Many customers want to transfer a domain name to us but are a little unsure how to do it. Well the good news is it is actually very easy. Simply follow the steps below and you'll be hopping over to us in no time.

Transfer a .uk Domain To Us.

Transferring your UK domains to Squirrel Hosting is pretty simple to do and very little technical knowledge is needed.

Any company you are transferring from may charge you a transfer/release fee. This can be anything up to £15, It's their way of saying bye! (if its more than £15 then its cheaper to go straight to nominet.co.uk and get them to do it for you). To help lighten this unnecessary fee, Squirrel Hosting don't charge for UK domain transfers (nor do we charge should you wish to transfer a domain from us).

General Transfer Steps

Below are the general steps to transfer a domain:

1. Contact the company who you registered the domain with and ask them to change the ISPtag of the domain to EXTEND.
2. When step one is complete click the domains tab at the top of our site and enter your domain that you want to transfer to Squirrel in the domain transfer box and click submit.
   
3. Add the domain name to your basket by clicking the tick button next to it. A popup will appear stating you must own this domain in order for it to be transferred, simply click OK to this and continue though the checkout as normal.
4. Put your feet up as Squirrel Hosting does the rest.

Below are a list of some popular companies and instructions on how to transfer a domain from them.

Moving From 123 Reg To Squirrel Hosting

1. Log into your 123-reg members area.
2. Select to Modify the domain you want to move.
3. In the Domain Control Panel select 'Change IPS Tag'.
4. Enter EXTEND as the new IPS Tag.
5. When step four is complete click the domains tab at the top of our site and enter your domain that you want to transfer to Squirrel in the domain transfer box and click submit.
   
6. Add the domain name to your basket by clicking the tick button next to it. A popup will appear stating you must own this domain in order for it to be transferred, simply click OK to this and continue though the checkout as normal.
7. Put your feet up as Squirrel Hosting does the rest.
   

Moving From UKREG To Squirrel Hosting

1. Select 'Configure Domains ' from UKREG.
2. Log into your UKREG account.
3. Select your UK domain that you want to move to Squirrel Hosting.
4. Select to modify the IPS Tag.
5. Enter EXTEND as the new IPS Tag.
6. When step five is complete click the domains tab at the top of our site and enter your domain that you want to transfer to Squirrel in the domain transfer box and click submit.
   
7. Add the domain name to your basket by clicking the tick button next to it. A popup will appear stating you must own this domain in order for it to be transferred, simply click OK to this and continue though the checkout as normal.
8. Put your feet up as Squirrel Hosting does the rest.

Transfer From Easyspace To Squirrel Hosting

1. To transfer from Easyspace you will need to give their staff a ring to help you with the process. Its relatively simple but make sure you have your account information ready. They will ask for your new registrars IPS Tag, which is EXTEND.
2. When step one is complete click the domains tab at the top of our site and enter your domain that you want to transfer to Squirrel in the domain transfer box and click submit.
   
3. Add the domain name to your basket by clicking the tick button next to it. A popup will appear stating you must own this domain in order for it to be transferred, simply click OK to this and continue though the checkout as normal.
