Change the main banner on your Concrete5 site
This guide is to help demonstrate how to change the main banner image on your Concrete5 homepage.
If you would like to host a concrete5
site, check out our Concrete5
hosting page for our great prices.
Step 1 Log in to your Concrete5 admin
Log in so that you can put your site into editing mode.
Step 2 Switch your site into editing mode
Once logged into your site, hover over 'edit' in the top left of the page and click 'edit this page'.
You will then be able to edit the page. For the next step, hover over the main picture, left click and several options will pop up. Choose 'edit' from the options.
An 'Edit Image' page will load. From here you will need to click on the image at the top of the page and click 'choose new file'.
Step 3 Choose a file
A file manager page will load with a choice of pictures that have already been uploaded to the system. You can either choose one of the pictures from the list or you can upload a picture from your computer.
To choose a file that has already been uploaded, tick the checkbox next to your picture of choice and from the dropdown above, select 'choose'.
If you want to upload a new picture, scroll down to step 4.
The 'Edit Image' page will pop up again. Before clicking 'save', check that the sizes in the 'Constrain Image Dimensions' are correct and then click 'save'. You will then need to go back to edit in the top right hand corner and choose 'publish my edits' for them to become public.
Step 4 Edit and upload a new photo
Uploading a new photo is simple. However you will have to resize any new image in a graphics program to make sure that the picture isn't too small / large or distorted. The default size of the banner image is 960 x 212 pixels so an image of around this size would be ideal.
Once you have edited your picture, you can upload it following the steps above. Instead of choosing a file from those already available, you will need to upload the new picture from your computer.
Once you have chosen the image file from your computer that you wish to upload and have clicked open, you will need to click 'Upload File' or 'Upload Multiple' depending on the amount of pictures.
A box will pop up with 'Upload Complete', click 'continue' in the top right corner. You will now be sent back to the 'File Manager' page. You can now continue by going back to step 3 and following the instructions.
